The Hill Family

Each generation the genetic make-up of the family has received enrichment from the distaff line and, in turn, Newman women have contributed their genetic legacy to other families.

The Hill Family

Postby Seraphim Newman-Norton » Tue Oct 13, 2009 5:43 pm

Details of the Hill family descendants of the marriage of Maria Susanna Newman (1792-1859) and Edmund Hill (born 1792) are to be found on pages 338-341 of my book. These have now been updated following Ancestry's recent publication of the London Parochial registers. Quite a few new Hills have come to light, so the numbering will have changed. However, all the Hills are incorrectly numbered with a 7, whereas their unique pedigree reference number should have begun with a 9 as being Maria Susanna's number in Pedigree Table V. Herewith the amended version:

9. Maria Susanna NEWMAN

Married at St. Martin’s-in-the-Fields, Westminster, 28 January 1814, Edmund Hill, a druggist. (He was the son of James & Ann Hill, born at Pangbourne, Berkshire, 23 September 1792). In 1822 he is a servant of Grosvenor Street, Shoreditch. In 1832 his occupation is greengrocer.
